Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise

    Praying in Jesus name…

“And if you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you so that the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:13–14, NCV)

Reading Mark 9:21-24 this morning I suddenly came face-to-face with myself! “Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has this been happening?” The father answered, “Since he was very young. The spirit often throws him into a fire or into water to kill him. If you can do anything for him, please have pity on us and help us.” Jesus said to the father, “You said, ‘If you can!’ All things are possible for the one who believes.” Immediately the father cried out, “I do believe! Help me to believe more!”” (Mark 9:21–24, NCV)

While I am not possessed by a demon there are certainly times when I am plagued with partial belief as the man in the story is. It seems no matter how hard I try to hold on to "Anything is possible for someone who has faith" I slip on my faith and fall. Sometimes the fall isn't so painful and other times it is. The lesson I am learning is to depend on Jesus' faith and not my own. But like a lot of things what seems so easy to say isn't so easy to carry out.

James Ryle writes, “Praying in Jesus name is not merely a formula of words with which to conclude our prayers. Whether we verbalize that phrase or not, it is about praying as Jesus would pray (always concerned about the will of His Father). It is about praying based on all that the word teaches about the person and work of the Lord Jesus on our behalf. Those who pray this way enjoy the certainty of these great promises of answered prayer, and they see much glory brought to God.”

Perhaps like me you've tripped over your faith, if so let the words of this prayer pick us up and send us on our way to greater and more deeper faith and belief not in prayer alone but also in the one to whom we pray. Heavenly Father... My faith is not working! The faith I need is the super-natural faith of Jesus. I know in many ways I am not worthy of such a wonderful blessing and so in my imagination I will make the journey to the cross and throw myself at his feet and ask for your hand of Forgiveness and your heart of Grace. It is my hearts desire LORD to bring glory to you. I love you God! I love you Jesus. I love you my Friend the Holy Spirit! In the Beloved name of Jesus I pray. Amen!

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!

    Grace and PEACE, Amen!

    Gary
