Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise

There is hope for the unbeliever because God is alive and well!

“When an attendant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. His servant said, "Alas, master! What shall we do?" He replied, "Do not be afraid, for there are more with us than there are with them." Then Elisha prayed: "O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see." So the LORD opened the eyes of the servant, and he saw; the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” (2 Kings 6:15-17 NRSV)

Remember this from yesterday's Glory Seed? Here I am floundering in the middle of a category 10 storm and Jesus says to have faith! Does he know how hard it is to have faith when a storm rages inside and outside? Does he know how much I dislike enduring until the end”? The answer is YES! “Father, if so take this cup from me and let this storm pass.” Jesus may not have used those exact words (see Matthew 26:9) but you get the idea.”

Are there loved ones in your life whose belief in God is questionable, “Have faith in God,” you tell them. Only to hear, “Have faith in God? I don't think so God's never did anything for me. And look at your life with everything that's happened to you what has God really done for you?”

Do you know how hard it is to talk about faith in God to a unbeliever? How do we as believers in God take a unbeliever and make a believer out of them? The answer is simple – we can't.

Making believers out of unbelievers is the responsibility of the Holy Spirit. While we can talk to them about God. We can tell them our “God story” it is an encounter with the Holy Spirit that will “drive” the reality of God into their hearts/spirits. What we can do is to pray for that experience to happen and remembering how hard it is at times to keep faith alive keep praying in faith when that don't happen right away. We can pray the prayer of Elisha, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see."

There are some things God helps us do and there are other things only God can do and we can only help, blessed is the person who exercises the difference.

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!

    Grace and PEACE, Amen!

    Gary
