Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise

The storm may not be over but God isn't finished yet!

“At that time, too, I entreated the Lord, saying: “O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your might; what god in heaven or on earth can perform deeds and mighty acts like yours!” (Deuteronomy 3:23–24, NRSV)

Please make a special note of the punctuation mark at the end of this morning scripture. When you first read it you'd think it should end with a question mark but the author is not asking a question, he is making a statement. There IS NO god in heaven or on earth that can even come close to OUR God!

There are some stories in the bible that frustrate me. Take for instance the day when Jesus sent the disciples ahead of him in a boat and then at night a terrible storm threatened to pull them under and Jesus came to them walking on the water saved Peter got in the boat and calmed the storm. When storms threaten me why am I unable to see Jesus coming toward me while the storm continues to rage. “Please Jesus, where are you?” No sooner have I got the words out when the Holy Spirit whispers a two word answer, “Exercise faith.”

Here I am floundering in the middle of a category 10 storm and Jesus says to have faith! Does he know how hard it is to have faith when a storm rages inside and outside? Does he know how much I dislike enduring until the end”? The answer is YES! “Father, if so take this cup from me and let this storm pass.” Well, he may not have used those exact words (Matthew 26:9) but you get the idea.”

Because I am experiencing a storm with a sense of permanency it is my story (and I sticking to it) the Holy Spirit always responds to the words, “Not my will God but your will be done,” with the courage and strength needed to hold on and keep bailing until Jesus says, “Peace be still!”

Are you floundering in a storm? Do you need a reason to keep bailing until Jesus shows up and calms the storm? Then here is T H E reason. “O Lord God, you have only begun to... what god in heaven or on earth can perform deeds and mighty acts like yours!” If you're not quite there yet then file it away for future use 'cause there's a good chance you'll need it in the future.

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!

    Grace and PEACE, Amen!

    Gary

Amen Gary! I'm filing it away 'cause I know I'll need it in the future.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
