Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
Here's the good news. Here's the bad news.
“I can never escape from Your Spirit! I can never get away from Your presence! If I go up to heaven, You are there; if I go down to the grave, You are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there Your hand will guide me, and Your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night--but even in darkness I cannot hide from You. To You the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to You.” (Psalms 139:7-12 NLT)
You can run! You can walk! You can crawl! You can swim! You can ride! You can fly! BUT you CAN”T hide! God is PRESENT! When your are in a “pinch” that is good news. However, if you are the one “pinching” that is bad news. Whether it is good news or bad news this truth can be denied but it cannot be hidden... Because God is PRESENT the Holy Spirit is your PRESENT!
The Holy Spirit comforts! The Holy Spirit confronts!
The first time I had surgery I will never forget laying on the gurney headed for the OR looking at the ceiling and reciting (silently) the 23rd Psalms and feeling the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit. And then there was the time at work when a machine a supervisor began cursing at me when I started cursing back it only intensified his cursing then suddenly it was as if I was looking at myself in a mirror. Because the Holy Spirit confronted me at that instant my life has never been the same (later I apologized, he never did).
While I am unable to speak for anyone other than myself I am so thankful that God sees me and is present with me 24/7 even though there are times when it sure would be nice if he closed his eyes from time-to-time. I am not sure who will remember the television show Zorro but the theme song reminds me of how God has been in my life. “Out of the night when the full moon is bright comes a horseman known as Zorro (oops I mean comes a Horseman known as God)!
One last thing I wouldn't be to concerned about whether or not the eyes of Texas are upon you but I would be very concerned because the Eyes of God ARE upon you! Whether that is good news or whether that is bad news is up to you.
Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
Grace and PEACE,
Gary
