Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise

When everything is gone God is still present…

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6–7, NLT)

In the late 1970's because of an economic turn down in business at my workplace I was laid off. With two young children, a car payment, a house payment, utility bills, medical bills, and an inadequate unemployment check we began falling behind in everything. One day in the mail we received a money order for over a hundred dollars with no signature. Then once every week until I returned to work we received another money order with no identifying signature. All these years later while the donors remains a mystery in my imagination the words “Because God cares we care,” written across every one of them.

“It is indeed a mysterious thing that the Lord does when He lifts the loads we carry through life, and enables us to then lift our heads and see life from His point of view. Yes, we may have to put up with all kinds of aggravations, but we do so realizing that pure gold put in the fire comes out proved pure.” (James Ryle)

Those money orders not only relieved some of the stress Patti and I were experiencing but they also taught us a very valuable lesson in caring, giving, exercising faith in God, and worrying. What I can't figure out is how so often I forget those valuable lessons. In his own time and own way God takes care of us.

God, please forgive me for forgetting such and important lesson and thank you for the reminder. I will try hard not to forget again.

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!

    Grace and PEACE, Amen!

    Gary

Amen Crusty! Timely words again for me. I'm saying to God myself "God, please forgive me for forgetting such and important lesson and thank you for the reminder. I will try hard not to forget again."
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
