Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    God is the BLESSING…

Saturday while on my morning bike ride God spoke to my spirit and forever changed how I understand his blessings. First of all God is THE BLESSING and everything else God does for us or gives us are things! That God is the BLESSING is written in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. “God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.” (John 3:16, CEV) And God as THE BLESSING is present in our lives through the presence of the Holy Spirit.

What does understanding God as THE BLESSING mean to each of us? It means that our greatest need is God and not the things he can do for us. God loved us so much that he gave himself to us in the life of Jesus. Jesus and God love us so much they gave us their life in the life of the Holy Spirit. Out of their love they give us themselves, and out of their love comes what they do for us, it is out of our relationship with them they provide us the “things” we need to live an abundant life.

God’s greatest need is to be loved for God not the “things” he is capable of giving us. In a like manner our greatest need is to be loved for ourselves not what others can get out of us.

Saturday as I rode my bike “through the valley of needs” I discovered as important as they were God’s presence was the BLESSING I needed most. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus put our need for God and the “things” of God in perspective, “But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.” (Matthew 6:33, CEV) In case you’re wondering what God’s work is. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and most important commandment. The second most important commandment is like this one. And it is, “Love others as much as you love yourself.”” (Matthew 22:37–39, CEV) Please notice the absence of the word “things”.

Love is for God and people not “things”!

    Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

The LORD gives strength to those who are weary… But those who trust the LORD will find new strength…” (Isaiah 40:29, 31 CEV)
