No prayer goes unanswered…
“I praise you, Lord, for answering my prayers. You are my strong shield, and I trust you completely. You have helped me, and I will celebrate and thank you in song.” (Psalm 28:6–7, CEV)
No prayer goes unanswered! No prayer falls on deaf ears! God answers prayers! I don’t know about you but the most frustrating prayer is one that ends in silence. You pour your heart out to God, you exercise every bit of faith you can muster up, and you present a logical plea only to hear nothing. And you begin questioning does God answer prayers for everyone but me? The answer of course is God answers prayers, every prayer uttered by every prophet in the bible was answered, every prayer uttered by every one of Jesus’ followers was answered, every prayer is answered because God answers prayers. Take for instance when Jesus prayed that God might take the “cup” of his crucifixion away from him it was answered with silence and the crucifixion.
Recently Patti and I facing a difficult decision prayed hard over a 3 day period only to hear nothing from heaven. Because a decision had to be made and with seemingly no direction from heaven we made it. And now in retrospect we wonder was if it was the right decision and because of the all the factors involved the outcome will play itself out in time but whether it was the right decision or not is based not on God’s answer to our prayer but on what we knew from the scriptures. There are times when God’s silence in response to a prayer is no as in the case of Jesus’ prayer to be spared his horrible death. And there are other times when God remains silent because we already know what his will is thus we know how we should go and proceed.
Experience has taught me (at a high price) there is a right way, a wrong way, and God’s way. And the unique thing about God’s way is there are times when God’s way seems to be the wrong way by worldly standards. Every response to following God’s way whether it seems right or wrong must be carried out with Faith in God (FIG).
Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
Grace and PEACE, Amen!
Gary
