Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    Faith in action…

Have you ever noticed writers seem to hesitate writing about the times they’ve spent in the valley of despair? I don’t know about you but I live in the real world where there are ups and downs, there are times when I get so discouraged I want to run away never to be heard from again. I suspect at some level writers don’t want people to see there are times when their faith is challenged so they write from the mountain top and not from the valley of despair.

No so with me, while I am not much of a writer I have no problem writing from the valley of despair. Readers need to know that there are times when even people who appear to have rock solid faith sometimes struggle like the rest of us. Because the book of Psalms tells about real life experiences it is one of my favorites. Take for instance Psalms 13… “How much longer, LORD, will you forget about me? Will it be forever? How long will you hide? How long must I be confused and miserable all day? How long will my enemies keep beating me down? Please listen, LORD God, and answer my prayers. Make my eyes sparkle again, or else I will fall into the sleep of death. My enemies will say, "Now we've won!" They will be greatly pleased when I am defeated.” (Psalms 13:1-4 CEV) Now that fellow was where I find myself more times than I care to be. When was the last time you may be wondering – yesterday!

I can’t speak for you but the Psalmist is one person I can really relate to. If I had a dime for each time I’ve prayed words similar I’d be a rich man. It has been out of my experiences in the valley of despair where I’ve learned how transitory and fragile belief can be and how strong and enduring faith can be. Shortly after Gary introduced me to Jesus we come across this scripture from Mark chapter 9 which quickly became one of my favorites, one I’ve quoted many times in my prayers. “…"Lord, I believe! Help my unbelief!" Experience tells me when God hears those 6 words he springs into action working at his own speed to strengthen my faith and rescue me.

I have no trouble telling you it has been out of my valley of despair experiences where I have discovered what it really means to exercise faith, “I trust your love, and I feel like celebrating because you rescued me. You have been good to me, LORD, and I will sing about you.” (Psalms 13:5-6 CEV)

This is faith in action… “I feel like celebrating because you rescued me,” even though the actual rescue hasn’t happened yet!

Walk in the Light with Jesus and you’ll never get lost!
    PEACE be unto you!

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 LEB)

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
