Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
    Stay Vertical…

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” (Romans 3:23–24, NLT)

With 2 artificial hips and very delicate femurs resulting from multiple operations one greatest my fear when outside in the winter is falling therefore one of my guiding philosophies is “Stay Vertical.” Walking on ice and snow without falling is easier said than done but so far this winter thanks to the LORD I’ve managed to not fall. However, spiritually I cannot say that, I think Paul while writing to the Roman church he had me in mind (and not wanting to embarrass me didn’t use my name) when he wrote “…We all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

I remember one dark snowy morning I needed to take some shipping papers out to the scale house at work and half way across the driveway when suddenly the next thing I knew I was flat on my back looking up. Because of the hard cement driveway and nothing to break my fall I was momentarily unable to move. Normally when we fall the first thing we do is out of embarrassment look around to see if anyone saw us but I didn’t that morning I was in the middle of the driveway where trucks would be coming and unable to see me lying on the ground. When I looked around to see if anyone saw me it wasn’t out of embarrassment it was out of desperation I couldn’t get up on my own. After what seemed like hours I was able to drag myself back to the door I’d just come out of and grabbing the doorknob I pulled myself back vertical whispered a quick, “Thank you LORD,” then hobbled back to my office.

Most of the time when we fall we fall hard but as a rule falls are not life threatening but sinning and falling short of God’s standard is always spiritually life threatening yet out of his unconditional love and compassion Jesus is in our lives so when we do fall we can land on him so he can break our fall and lifts us back into a vertical position.

(This is a “me too” prayer) “Jesus, I am so glad you never get tired of cushioning me when I fall and then picking me up. I am looking forward to the day when I walk in heaven where there is no slipping and falling.”

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

    Amen Gary!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
