Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    Reflections…

Once upon a time, perhaps not so long ago, or maybe even now this was or is an entry in our prayer journal. God, “I’m feeling terrible—I couldn’t feel worse! Get me on my feet again. You promised, remember? When I told my story, you responded; train me well in your deep wisdom. Help me understand these things inside and out so I can ponder your miracle-wonders. My sad life’s dilapidated, a falling-down barn; build me up again by your Word.” (Psalm 119:25–28, The Message)

“Help me understand these things inside and out so I can ponder your miracle-wonders.” For me that sentence is a request for God to take me inside those things that make us feel “terrible-I couldn’t feel worse,” (storms that pound us). What happens within those storms trying to wipe us out? Do words like, worry, fear, hopelessness, discouragement, depression sound familiar? While one or all of them accompany us in every storm we encounter we never face or walk in them alone, never!

You are probably familiar with the following Old Testament story illustrating that we are never alone even though at times it seems that way. “When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha.”

We know what it’s like to suddenly find ourselves walking headlong into a storm. In my case I remember sitting on a hospital bed and hearing a heart surgeon telling me I would need quadruple bypass surgery. Even though I felt great a cold wind began blowing, lightening flashed, thunder roared, and I found myself where Elisha’s servant was. However, as people began praying for me the rest of the story began unfolding.

“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!” The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.” (2 Kings 6:15–17, NLT)

God loves to take dilapidated falling-down barns and not just restore them to their old beauty but to his beauty! All we need to is to ask and exercise our faith.

    Anticipate! Experience! Believe! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Amen Gary! Good words of hope!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
