Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    Supplier, Promise, Encourager…

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.” (John 14:16–17, NLT, emphasis mine)

This morning in one of the devotionals I follow the author wrote something that troubles me a little he wrote, “Jesus walked among us”. I understand he was referring to the fact that Jesus no longer walks among us physically but it is absolutely imperative for us to acknowledge the FACT that Jesus lives not only among us but also IN US!

As my relationship with Jesus deepens I am learning to understand him as the Promise (among many others) and the Holy Spirit as the Encourager (among many others). Jesus is God’s promise that his plan for our lives is the only way life will take on meaning. Out of Jesus’ relationship with each of us the Holy Spirit encourages us the awesome fact that God is our Supplier (Jehovah Jireh).

In chapter 15 of John’s gospel Jesus open us up to how our lives can become meaningful. “But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry.” (John 15:26–27, NLT, emphasis mine) While we’ve not been with Jesus since the beginning of his ministry he has been with us since our beginning.

God desires everyone to accept his plan for their lives and we play an important part in his effort to bring everyone into his family. As we live in God’s plan and we find ourselves facing overwhelming difficulties the Holy Spirit not only encourages us to keep going even in the face of defeat but also empowers us with the testimony that Jesus IS THE PROMISE that God will supply us with everything we need to transform every defeat into victory.

    Anticipate! Experience! Believe! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
