Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    Praying: stop – look – listen…

In spite of what you may sometimes think – Prayer is not talking to yourself!

    PRAYER IS BEING WITH GOD!

One day with life pressing hard in on him in desperation a man prayed, “God, I don’t know why I am doing this because every time I do I get the feeling that all I’ve done is talk to myself. And I’m probably doing that now but I need you. Amen.”

Much to the man’s surprise he heard a voice, “I know what you mean I tried talking to you a number of times and like you it seems as if I am talking to myself.”

    “Is that you, God?”

    “You don’t know my voice?”

“No, because I’ve never heard it before,” the man answered.

“Don’t you mean you’ve never listened to me before?” the voice responded.

    “Heard, listened? What’s the difference?”

“Hearing is the difference. Sounds entering ones ear does not constitute hearing. ” the voice answered.

“God, are you going to help me?”

    “Are you willing to listen?”

    “Yes.”

    “Then I’m willing to help.”

    “God, is that really you?”

    “What’s your heart telling you?”

“The small voice in my heart says yes.”

    “That’s my Son’s voice.”

    “Jesus’ voice?”

    “The very same.”

“Wow! I never knew,” the man answered in surprise.

    “I know,” God said.

God promises through the Prophet Jeremiah, “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me. When you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you, declares the LORD…” (Jeremiah 29:12 – 29:14)

It is nearly impossible to talk and listen at the same time! When we pray sometimes we talk – sometimes we need to stop – look – listen.

    Anticipate! Experience! Believe! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Amen Gary! Beautiful and timely words!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
