Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
    We are never crushed…

The apostle Paul tells us in chapter 12 of Romans it is important not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to. I think it is equally important not to think of ourselves lowlier of ourselves than we ought to. It is also important to look at others more highly or lowlier than we ought to. Writing to the Corinthians Paul spells out why we need put our lives and the lives of others in God’s perspective not the world’s perspective. “But God chose the foolish things of this world to put the wise to shame. He chose the weak things of this world to put the powerful to shame. What the world thinks is worthless, useless, and nothing at all is what God has used to destroy what the world considers important.” (1 Corinthians 1:27–28, CEV)

In his second letter to the Corinthians Paul not only puts our lives in God’s perspective but goes on to state what God can do with our life when we don’t think more highly or lowlier than we ought to. Paul affirms that what’s inside us is far more important than what appears on the surface. “We are like clay jars in which this treasure is stored. The real power comes from God and not from us. We often suffer, but we are never crushed. Even when we don’t know what to do, we never give up. In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again.” (2 Corinthians 4:7–9, CEV)

“We often suffer, but we are never crushed.” Make no mistake life is difficult and more often than not we find ourselves overburdened and nearly crushed under the heavy load of adversities. And as we struggle with our adversities Jesus promises us, “If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28–30, CEV)

One of my favorite God Promise (one I depend on daily sometimes hourly) is: “In times of trouble, God is with us, and when we are knocked down, we get up again.” I am glad God will never tire of picking me up.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life think and depend on what’s inside rather than what appears in a mirror.

    Anticipate! Experience! Believe! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Amen and thanks Gary! Good words.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
