Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
The Bridge between the old you and the new you…

Everything has a beginning. Today began at 12:01 AM. The first day of the rest of our lives began at 12:01 AM but my day actually began at 6:08 AM as I crawled out of bed. Each and every day as we begin our daily journey we need a Bridge, not a physical bridge but a Bridge between yesterday, today, and tomorrow, a Bridge spanning the distance from the yesterday you to the today and tomorrow you. The Bridge I am referring to is Jesus the apostle Paul explains it this way…

“Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others. What we mean is that God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace.” (2 Corinthians 5:17–19, CEV)

While Jesus existed before the dawn of creation his earthly journey had a beginning. In a few weeks we’ll celebrate the beginning of his earthly journey as we do each year at this time. As we all know Jesus did not stay a baby instead each day because his relationship with God he, “…grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.” (Luke 2:52, NLT)

Paul writes, “But when the time was right, God sent his Son, and a woman gave birth to him…” (Galatians 4:4, CEV) One of the ways I understand the meaning of “the time was right” is Jesus’ birth came at a time when the need for a, “…Wonderful Advisor and Mighty God, Eternal Father and Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, CEV) was at an all time high (and still is). While there is great mystery in the birth of Jesus and greater still is the mystery of how Jesus as a Bridge makes us a “new person” it is a mystery that when embraced for what it is a Bridge to not only who God is calling us to become but the divine resources needed to be who God is calling us to be.

Just as Jesus’ earthly journey continues today he will continue to be a bridge between the new person we are today and the new person we will be tomorrow.

    Anticipate! Experience! Believe! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
