Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
The Holy Spirit “loans” us God’s Eyes… Part two…

According to what Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount God “…makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong.” (Matthew 5:45, CEV) Therefore the Light of Christ shines on every person in the world. However, while The Light shines on everyone according to John 8:12 not everyone will be alive, “Once again Jesus spoke to the people. This time he said, “I am the light for the world! Follow me, and you won’t be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life.”” (John 8:12, CEV) Jesus was not speaking about physical light he was referring to spiritual light.

We see physical light with our eyes. According to the apostle Paul spiritual light is seen with the “eyes of your heart” (Ephesians 1:18 LEB) It is through the eyes or our hearts that we not only come alive spiritually but can see into God’s World. Christine Valters Paintner writes about seeing with the eyes of our hearts, “God’s presence is always before us. The invitation is to shift our vision from seeing the obvious and expected with our physical eyes to beholding the sacred within any given moment with the eyes of our hearts.” (Eyes of the Heart: Photography as a Christian Contemplative Practice page 16, Ave Maria Press, Kindle Edition)

Paintner is saying it is through the eyes of our hearts what we see with our physical eyes as “bad things” have become, are becoming, or will become sacred blessings. In the early 1980’s I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis and for a couple of years it got the best of me then one day it was like the Holy Spirit loaned me God’s eyes illuminating my need to depend totally on God, and when reaffirmed my need to follow Jesus I began to live in the strength of the Holy Spirit (the active presence of God) and not Myasthenia Gravis. Since then it has remained in remission, one of the many sacred blessings the Light of Christ has given me.

There are a great many negative experiences you face every day but the Holy Spirit the Active Presence of God in your personal world has loaned you God’s eyes so you see negative experiences become sacred blessings.

Open your eyes to it! Experience it! Believe it! Be transformed by it!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
