Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
    STOP…DROP… PRAY…

“I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire, and the flame will not burn you.” (Isaiah 43:2, HCSB)

One of the most deadly catastrophes that wreck havoc on our lives is fire. While there are many benefits we enjoy from fire it is also very dangerous and a killer. I remember as a youth and as a volunteer firefighter that when our clothing caught fire we were to STOP…DROP…ROLL… to smother out the flames.

In the Holman Christian Standard Bible fire is referenced 460 times it is used to describe God’s consuming power, God spoke to Moses out of a fiery bush. One verse resonates in my life is found in Peter’s first letter. “Dear friends, don’t be surprised when the fiery ordeal comes among you to test you as if something unusual were happening to you.” (1 Peter 4:12, HCSB)

The fiery ordeal and God’s part in the ordeal is powerfully illustrated in chapter 3 of Daniel. “Suddenly the king jumped up and shouted, “Weren’t only three men tied up and thrown into the fire?” “Yes, Your Majesty,” the people answered. “But I see four men walking around in the fire,” the king replied. “None of them is tied up or harmed, and the fourth one looks like a god.” Nebuchadnezzar went closer to the flaming furnace and said to the three young men, “You servants of the Most High God, come out at once!” They came out, and the king’s high officials, governors, and advisors all crowded around them. The men were not burned, their hair wasn’t scorched, and their clothes didn’t even smell like smoke.” (Daniel 3:24–27, CEV)

Through my relationship with Jesus and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit God has gotten me through all my fiery trials. And I’ve not been burned because I learned early in life to STOP…DROP…PRAY… and while I haven’t been as blessed as the men above have but with my ceramic/steel hips, troubled heart, pulmonary fibrosis, and diabetes I am enjoying and living life to its fullest thanks to a God who loves and sustains me every minute of every day.

And here’s not just good news but the GREAT NEWS what God does for me he WILL DO for you! Going through a fiery trial? STOP…DROP…PRAY…

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary
