Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
    The Jesus Lighthouse…

“Those who walked in the dark have seen a bright light. And it shines upon everyone who lives in the land of darkest shadows.” (Isaiah 9:2, CEV) I was one who once walked in the dark but thanks to those who shared the Light of Jesus with me I now walk in the Light. Yet there are times when storms arise in my life and I find myself walking in dark places in desperate need of the Light to guide me to safety.

Yesterday Patti and I spent some time at the beach where Lake Huron empties into the St. Clair River the park is called Lighthouse Park because it sets next to one of the oldest lighthouses in Michigan. It has been restored and now is open to the public for tours. While there I began thinking about what Jesus said about being the Light and that led to thinking about Jesus’ Light in each of us. With the lighthouse a few hundred feet away I suddenly realized that we house Jesus’ Light and that led to: Jesus is the Light! We are the house! Together we are… the Jesus Lighthouse!

We are the light of the world because it is Jesus Light that shines in us Eugene Peterson in the Message renders what Jesus was saying in chapter 5 of Matthew verses 15 and 16 this way. “If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:15–16, The Message)

Somewhere someone (could be you, could be me) is either thinking to themselves or crying out “I long for the past, when God took care of me, and the light from his lamp showed me the way through the dark.” (Job 29:2–3, CEV) With Jesus’ Light in you, you ARE the Jesus Lighthouse let Jesus’ Light shine through you illuminating the God who took care of you and who will take care of them.

“I am the light that has come into the world. No one who has faith in me will stay in the dark.” (John 12:46, CEV) Jesus is the Light! We are the house! Together we are… the Jesus Lighthouse!

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary
