Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
    Life! It’s all about Jesus…

I don’t know about you but there are times when I think life has gotten far more complicated then God intended it to be. One of the things that draw me to the outdoors especially when I am riding my bike on the nature trails near our home or driving through the countryside or the mountains of eastern Tennessee is its simplicity. Nature and the inhabitants of nature (animals, birds, insects, and foliage) live simple lives. While it is true there are times when the relationship between the inhabitants of nature are intricately weaved together the simplicity of their day-to-day living stands out as a living testimony of God’s ability to take care of the inhabitants of his world.

While there are probably hundreds maybe even more situations that combine themselves to complicate our lives somewhere in the top five you’ll find worry. Worry usually starts out with a passing thought one that isn’t really that important but one that won’t go away. And each time it rifles through your mind it gets bigger demanding more of your attention until it is no longer a passing thought but a life threatening virus. The resulting complexity worrying creates draws us unwillingly in a house of mirrors where all we see are distortions of our own life.

If you are wondering how I became such an expert on worry wonder no more because I am a been-there-done-that-still-at-times-worrier who is working hard with a lot of help from the Holy Spirit to become sensitive to those first passing thoughts. And when they begin focus on Jesus and not the distorted images worry creates. It’s never easy but with self restraint and the image of Jesus “taking care of business” planted firmly in our minds it is always possible.

I know you’re familiar with what Jesus said about worrying but are they more than just words in your bible or are they words etched across the pages of your life, words you live by?

“I tell you not to worry about your life. Don't worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn't life more than food or clothing? Look at the birds in the sky! They don't plant or harvest. They don't even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren't you worth more than birds?”
    (Matthew 6:25-26 CEV)

When I think about my life there are many things that undermine my worth among them is worry yet when Jesus gave his life for me and I gave my life to him life is no longer about me but about Jesus. And out of Jesus’ life comes a life (yours and mine) worth more than this world could ever give us.

    LIFE! IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary

Amen Gary! True and timely words again!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
