A Glory Seed Devotional
Jesus’ Tomb and 2014…
A cold steel nail touches the soft skin on wrist of a young carpenter sentenced to die and for an instant time stands still. Then as if on cue the heavy hammer begin its short journey into history. Suddenly deep in his spirit the young carpenter sees a face and he smiles. “What manner of man is this that smiles in the face of death,” the executioner said to another soldier. Unable understand the soldier shrugged his shoulders and continued with the execution.
Hours later, “Father into thy hands I commit my Spirit,” words whispered from a wooden cross ended not only the life of Jesus but his pain and suffering as well. As hell celebrated Jesus’ closest friends placed his lifeless body in a borrowed tomb and sealed it with a mammoth rock.
The instant the last sliver of light disappeared the tomb became hauntingly silent. Seconds later an ominous black light invaded the darkness and the chamber of death played host to the Evil One he let out an evil hiss and smiled at his handiwork. But suddenly there was an explosion of pure white light and Evil One was not alone. As the Holy Spirit touched Jesus’ dead heart it was instantly filled with life and the Evil One dropped to his knees and screamed in pain.
Meanwhile, in the year 2014 a voice silently prays, “I am at my wits end Jesus I’ve tried my best but at every turn I am defeated. Each time I pick myself up I fall again. I am a failure Lord, I’ve failed myself, I’ve failed my family, I’ve failed my friends, and saddest of all I have failed you. At times it seems as if someone or something is pulling at me trying to destroy me. I am almost there but I haven’t the strength nor the will to go on please help me and forgive me. Amen!”
Instantly from his stone cold tomb Jesus’ Spirit travels through time and space, through pain, through self doubt, through feelings of failure and a cold dark life begins to warm and fill with Light once again the Evil One drops to his knees and screams in pain! And suddenly two persons walk out of a once stone cold lifeless tomb and into the Light of God.
We know that one person is Jesus could it be the other is you? Think of the possibility!
Grace and PEACE!
Believe it! Experience it!
