A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
From impossibility to possibility…
This morning are you finding yourself standing in a canyon surrounded by impossible situations, impossible goals. Is there something seemingly impossible to overcome holding you back preventing you from being the person or companion you know you can be? Have you lived your life in the shadows of impossibility?
If any of those questions have struck a familiar cord then welcome to the real world. However, there is good news you can break free of the shadows of impossibility and into the light of possibility! “Jesus looked at them and said, “There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.”” (Mark 10:27, CEV)
Like many people I have struggled with impossibilities all my life. For the past several years I have wanted to take some courses in Photography which seemed impossible for financial reasons. Yet as that barricade started to shrink I realized the impossibility wasn’t financial it was internal. It has been 50 years since I was a student in school and my mind doesn’t function as fast as it did when I was in High School. And not only that but when I was in school the rest of the class was my age however this time I was old enough to be a grandfather to the rest of the class.
Then several days ago I met Lydia Chorpening and the shadows of impossibility have slowly given way to the light of possibility. Well, I didn’t really meet her but I did get her new book Bigger than Impossible: Keys to Experiencing the Impossible through God in which she writes. “The proverbial coin of the impossible flips to possible when we avail ourselves of God’s saving grace which is freely given to us by Christ Jesus. By omitting the ‘I’ and ‘M’ of ‘impossible’ we can make our goals in life ‘God -possible’.” (Life Sentence Publishing, Kindle Edition locations 671-673)
And if all that still haven’t convinced you can go from impossibility to possibility perhaps the apostle Paul can help. “Be brave when you face your enemies. Your courage will show them that they are going to be destroyed, and it will show you that you will be saved. God will make all of this happen, and he has blessed you. Not only do you have faith in Christ, but you suffer for him.” (Philippians 1:28–29, CEV)
Believe it! Experience it!
Grace and PEACE!
