Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    Glory Seed Devotional 07/11/2014

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
    God is my Sanctuary…

But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread Your protection over them, that all who love Your name may be filled with joy. For You bless the godly, O LORD; You surround them with Your shield of love. (Psalms 5:11-12 NLT)

There is one question that keeps confronting me from time-to-time has proven itself to be not really a question but rather an invitation from the Holy Spirit. “Gary, if God is your Sanctuary as you say he is how do you go into an invisible sanctuary and take refuge?” It’s one thing to take shelter from a thunderstorm or tornado in a reinforced building, but taking shelter from life storms that threaten your emotional and spiritual wellbeing on the other hand may not be as simple as opening a door and walking in.

Seeking refuge in God may not be as simple as opening a door it is however as simple as spending time in prayer because prayer is spending time with God. However, as important as prayer is when it comes to entering into God as your Sanctuary it is only a doorway opening up to experiencing God’s presence the worship experience and blessings come once inside God’s presence. Because God is Spirit (invisible) spending time in his presence is an inner experience which uses “outer” resources.

In my own experience prayer as a doorway to taking refuge in God primarily involves surrendering myself and my time to the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that takes us on a faith walk into the presence of God. At some point I always return to praying but usually the first thing I do is read the bible or other “spiritual themed” book, sometimes I do some writing or journaling, usually in the background is “spiritual themed instrumental” music. Since I love being outdoors many times I experience God outdoors however, I’ve had just as many experiences in my recliner, in the sanctuary at church, and even at our local mall. It’s not important what is outside that counts it is what the Holy Spirit is doing inside that counts.

What works for me may not work for you but I suspect you may have your own way of spending time with God. The point I want to make is to spend time with God as many times in a day as the Holy Spirit gives you the invitation.

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 NLT
