Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
With God you do not need a calculator…

“Buy yourself a calculator because it’s the only thing you can really count on,” a co-worker said whenever things were not going the way he felt they should or people were unkind to him. While there was an element of truth in what he was saying but when he included God in his philosophy we parted ways. I tried to convince him otherwise but he’d already slammed the door shut on God and refused to reopen it. My co-worker’s inability to see God has faithful helped me transform my seemingly negative experiences in life into a deeper more trusting relationship with God. It is ironic how God challenges us by allowing some people who live their life devoid of God and whose life is filled with negativity to grow our relationship with the Jesus/Holy Spirit deeper.

When it comes to helping us understand the “mechanics” of how God goes about bringing his faithfulness to fruition in our life author Mike Erre does a wonderful job. “In fact, I think Scripture demonstrates just the opposite. God is all about giving us more than we can handle so that we’ll actually have to trust Him… We think faith is supposed to protect us from being brought to a place of such desperation, but Paul suggests that faith is that point of desperation—that is the place where faith and trust in God actually begin.” (Mike Erre, “Astonished: Recapturing the Wonder, Awe, and Mystery of Life with God,” page 94 published by David C. Cook, Kindle Edition)

Yesterday we learned that when we plant a seed of belief in God it germinates grows and develops into “full blown faith.” Today we discover that when faith matures it blossoms in the fruit God’s faithfulness. Which translates – when you have a relationship with God you do not need a good calculator. “So know that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God. He will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes for people who love him and obey his commands.” (Deuteronomy 7:9, NCV)

The other day I read a sign on our local township nature trail that said, “When you get to the end of your rope tie a knot and hang on.” I used to think that was profound but now as I reflect back on my life see it differently “When you get to the end of your rope don’t tie a knot and hang on instead let go and fall into the faithful wings of the Holy Spirit.”

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary
