Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
    The Journey of a River…

Beginning high on a snow capped mountain where the air is thin, where the sky and earth meet a small snowflake falls. Then there is another, then another, then another. Warmed by the sun the snow begins to melt and embarks on an arduous journey down the mountainside. Soon the resulting water begins cutting a small furrow into the solid rock as the forces of gravity pull them downward. Before long the solid rock gives way to the power of erosion and soon the furrow becomes a small mountain stream.

As the stream of water flows downward it is joined by rain and suddenly it begins teeming with life and the mountain stream begins to journey through rich forests of green trees filled with birds and animals of all shapes and sizes. Mysteriously it gives of it own essence to support the life of the forest. The stream does not stop soon it becomes a river built by movement of time and by the power of erosion. In its downward journey the river flows through beautiful meadows filled with flowers and through fields filled with wheat, corn, beans, oats, and crops. Every place the river flows it provides nourishment for the flowers, for the meadows, and for the fields it is always moving never stopping.

Repeatedly the water seems as if it will disappear and its’ journey will end. But the journey is so important that the Creator sends more rain and the river is replenished and it flows onward toward its greatest challenge. Soon the journey of the river flows into cities and towns and comes in direct contact with humans. Thinking they are the masters humans selfishly abuse it and slowly the river is no longer pure, no longer clean and begins showing signs of the human condition. As the journey of the river continues the forces of nature join together and humans soon learn they are not the masters. Eventually the river empties into a larger body of water and its journey ends.

Beginning high on Mount Zion where the air is pure and the Creator resides, a microscopic drop of His Spirit falls on your journey. Then there is another drop, then another, then another. Relentlessly the pouring out of the Holy Spirit drops on your life and embarks on an arduous journey. As the magnitude of your struggles pull downward on your life the droplets of the Spirit begin cutting a small pathway ahead of you. Before long the microscopic droplets of the Holy Spirit are so numerous they can not be counted and as the past becomes the future the small pathway becomes a mountain stream making a pathway from heaven to the places where you journey. Nourishing and bringing life to the desert places where you journey.

As the stream flows downward the Holy Spirit grows with each experience. Suddenly it begins teeming with gifts, talents, faith, love, and hidden strengths. As the mountain stream journeys through the fertile fields of your life, through rough terrain, through dark tunnels, and through the desert places of life it mysteriously sustains you and forever keeps you in linked with your Creator. Soon the stream becomes a river built by the movement of time and by the power of God. In its downward journey the River of the Spirit brings beauty and peace to your life. The erosion makes the rough edges of your journey smooth. Its purity cleans your sin-filled life. The journey of the river is the journey from God through your life and back to God.

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary
