A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
But joy comes in the morning…
“Sing praises to the LORD, you who belong to him; praise his holy name. His anger lasts only a moment, but his kindness lasts for a lifetime. Crying may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:4–5, NCV)
The Psalmist tells us that God (at times) gets angry while I can only speak for myself I totally agree. Some see God’s anger manifested in earth storms such as tornadoes, and personal storms in the form an adversities and difficulties. Personally I experience God’s anger when he withdraws from me. The Psalmist describes God’s anger in my life as nighttime when it is dark. And quite frankly and honestly I have a fear of the dark.
The Prophet Isaiah explains it this way. “Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.” (Isaiah 59:1–2, NLT)
While I have pretty much conquered my fear of when the lights go out however, when God withdraws from me because I sin I become terrified sometimes even to the point of forgetting that “joy comes in the morning.” Of course the morning the Psalmist speaking of has nothing to do with the lights coming on or the sunrise but has everything to do with the GOD’S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON-RISE.
One of the most powerful words in our vocabulary is the word “REPENTANCE” when put it into action it has the power to turn us off to sin and turn us on to God. It is so powerful it will bring about an almost instantaneous GOD’S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON-RISE. Again speaking only for myself I wish there was no need for it yet the truth and reality is there is a very crucial need and I am not afraid to admit it because as big as my sins can be I have a BIGGER GOD. And experience with repenting has proven repeatedly to me the reality and truth of this wonderful and powerful passage of scripture.
“The LORD shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and he has great love. He will not always accuse us, and he will not be angry forever… He has taken our sins away from us as far as the east is from west.” (Psalm 103:8–9, 12, NCV)
Believe it! Experience it!
Grace and PEACE!
