Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
God is alive and so are we…

“He is not God of the dead but of the living, because all are living to Him.” (Luke 20:38, HCSB)

This will come as no shock to you but you are not dead! In fact you are very much alive. I am sure that isn’t anything new but what may be new to you is the ways you are alive because living is more than just having a heart beat, functioning lungs, sight, mobility, and brain activity. To be alive is to experience life and even more important to be alive is to become a part of the living not the dead.

Recently my wife, Patti and I saw the movie “God is not dead” which is the story of a young college student who became embattled with a bitter and disillusioned college professor who proclaimed and taught that God was dead. It was a very powerful movie and well worth seeing. One of the things that impressed me throughout the movie was the fact that even though to the professor God was dead the professor was not dead to God.

We do not live in dead world! But there are those who through no fault of their own are dead to the world. Their lives are filled with one dark catacomb after another because they have been overpowered by life’s greatest enemy – not living. Many think death is life’s greatest enemy however death doesn’t even come close to not living. The professor in the movie “God is not dead” was alive yet he was not living, not only was his world bitter but it was also a world of one.

I remember back in my early twenties when I didn’t pursuit God, when as far as I was concerned God was a “thorn in my side” like the professor in the movie my life was bitter and it was a world of one, me. However God never stopped pursuing me. What I have since discovered when I stopped pursuing God I was actually running in the opposite direction and because God had not stopped pursuing me he entered my self created hell and through the Holy Spirit touched me alive.

As I look out the window this morning at a chilly, heavily overcast, rainy, foggy, gloomy morning in my heart the Son is shining and it’s going to be a wonderful day because God is alive and so am I!

“He is not God of the dead but of the living, because all are living to Him.” (Luke 20:38, HCSB) If you haven’t already slowed down and let God catch you and become alive then please consider doing so. If God has already caught you and you are alive enjoy your day. It’s great to be alive!

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
