A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
On the road of Goodbye…
The journey of goodbye sounds so lasting, so permanent, so sad, so painful. There are times, however when the journey of goodbye brings happiness, brings hope, brings peace, and brings new life.
To walk down the road of good-byes is sometimes lonely and frightening. To step into its path is to step into the unknown. “Can I make alone,” a surviving spouse wonders? “Can I ever adjust to my new life style,” a newly handicapped person wonders? “I never want to forget where I’ve been,” an over comer says. The questions are as numerous as sands of seas, of stars in the sky. Yet each question no matter how meaningless it seems has the power to accelerate or slow the ongoing process of life.
Locked tightly in the grip of good-byes is the power of remembrance, the power to ease pain, to ease the loneliness. “I will miss you my friend,” one says to another and the journey of goodbye begins. Suddenly from behind locked doors, from the reservoir of the memory comes a flood of remembrances which quickly drowns out the pain of goodbye. In some mysterious way electrical impulses stored in the brain come alive with relived memories, with re-felt feelings of love and of friendship. And quietly goodbye turn into thank you.
Locked tightly in the grip of good-byes is the power of freedom, the power to put behind those people and things that bind and limit, the power to ease pain and start over again. “I am free from the tyranny of the past and I am free to soar on the wings of good-byes into the grandeur of the future!” Goodbye is not just the closing of one door it is also the opening of another door.
The journey of goodbye sometimes good sometimes not so good yet always necessary it is a journey that awaits you after the next thought or before the next heartbeat. Within the perimeters of this life there is one goodbye that you must forever face one that is absolutely necessary it is the goodbye to sin. To say goodbye to sin is to say hello to God. The choice is yours if you do not say goodbye to sin than say you can most assuredly say goodbye to eternal peace.
Believe it! Experience it!
Grace and PEACE!
