Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotional’s 2018 Experiencing Jesus, the Prelude to Life
    God’s Love for you…
    Shalom!

In writing about God’s Love for us yesterday’s Glory Seed John wrote, “There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love. We love because he first loved us.” (1st John 4:18-19)

I am sure we are all aware of the power fear can have over us, that’s especially true when it comes to experiencing a loss. Fear caused the Great Depression in the 1930’s. Fear played a big part in both my mother and mother-in-law’s lives when they lost their husbands to health issues, and when they eventually past away. How many women (and men) stay in an abusive relationship? How many people have given up on their dreams because of fear?

I am not sure when fear first made me afraid of the dark, I do know it was at an early age because. It was so bad I would go to sleep with a toy gun under my pillow. I was in my late thirties when I began to conquer it. Even now I can still feel the accompanying symptoms of fear enveloping me when I find myself alone in the dark yet the Holy Spirit deep inside me lifts me above it before it takes a hold of me.

I still on occasion get fearful when I feel separated from God’s Love. And at first fear puts me in a tailspin further separating me from the Love of God. But when I read and re-read what John wrote I focus on, “…perfect Love drives out fear,” and the word “perfect” asking myself, “How can I an imperfect man love perfectly?” The answer is I can’t Love God or Patti or anyone else for that matter perfectly, if I could I wouldn’t need Jesus’ sacrificial Love for me nor would I need the Sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.

In his first letter Peter puts it in perspective for us. “You are being guarded by God's power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials so that the proven character of your faith-more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire-may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1st Peter 1:5-7)

Basically, I am trying to say if you find yourself in a fearful situation no matter the source you need the BIG THREE, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and you need to DEPEND on each of them to bolster your faith in them as the lift you above your fears. As plentiful as fears are the power of the Love the BIG THREE has for you over powers every fear imaginable!

Got fears? Let God Love you more perfectly!

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6)

    Grace and PEACE,
    Gary
