Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
Backwards from the Tomb to the Cross…

“You cannot start at the finish line and go backwards,” you’re no doubt familiar with the variation of that phrase about starting at the top and working down. While it’s true I am going to go against it and start at the finish line and work backwards along the trail. We all know that Easter ended with an empty tomb so that’s where we’ll begin at the tomb.

Where can you find a place filled with tombs?

If the word cemetery popped into your mind you’d be right. But there is another place filled with tombs – it’s called your life. In your life there’s a tomb where fear is buried (or needs to be), where hopelessness is buried (or needs to be), where low self-esteem is buried (or needs to be), where broken relationships is buried (or needs to be), where sin is buried (or needs to be), you’ve probably gotten the idea by now.

Perhaps the largest tomb in our lives is the tomb called self. Jesus said, “Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” (Luke 9:23–24, NLT)

As Easter fast approaches and we backtrack from Jesus’ empty tomb to his cross please make the difficult decision to crucify whatever in your life needs to be buried and then ask Jesus to accompany you to the tomb where you WILL be given new life.

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:28–30, NLT)

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

“Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed—for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. Then they went home.” (John 20:8–10, NLT)
