Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
Speak LORD, your servant is listening…

“And the LORD came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel replied, ‘Speak, your servant is listening.’” (1 Samuel 3:10, NLT) The LORD speaks not only to the biblical prophets but to each of us as well. It may not be in an auditable voice like it was with Samuel it may be the voice of a friend or even a stranger. The LORD’s voice may be within a song, it may be within a written word, it may be within a sunrise or a sunset, it may be within a picturesque outdoor scene, or it may even be within a storm.

It doesn’t matter how God chooses to speak to us what is important is that we pay attention when he “taps us on the shoulder” trying to get our attention. Jesus’ explanation to his disciples about the importance of paying attention to God applies to you and I as well. “Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.” (Mark 4:24, NLT)

Jesus pointed out two very important things that come out of paying attention to God’s attempt to speak to us. First when he speaks and we listen/hear the Holy Spirit helps us understand the LORD’s message. And second as we pour ourselves into paying attention to God the more we will become aware of God’s presence and his messages in our lives.

Perhaps the biggest hurdle we need to get over is “God doesn’t speak to me,” because God does speak to each of us individually and collectively as his people. If you need proof you simply need to remember God’s message of Love that came to you in the form of Jesus. God is not dead, nor is he unable to speak! “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.” (John 1:4, NLT)

God is first a foremost a Communicator! “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” (Revelation 3:13, NLT)

    “Speak, your servant is listening.”

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

“The farmer plants seed by taking God’s word to others… And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word…” (Mark 4:14, 20, NLT)
