Deeper Waters Forum Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

Deeper Waters is founded on the belief that the Christian community has long been in the shallow end of Christianity while there are treasures of the deep waiting to be discovered. Too many in the shallow end are not prepared when they go out beyond those waters and are quickly devoured by sharks. We wish to aid Christians to equip them to navigate the deeper waters of the ocean of truth and come up with treasure in the end.

We also wish to give special aid to those often neglected, that is, the disabled community. This is especially so since our founders are both on the autism spectrum and have a special desire to reach those on that spectrum. While they are a special emphasis, we seek to help others with any disability realize that God can use them and that they are as the Psalmist says, fearfully and wonderfully made.

It's not about homosexuality, it's about race though...

The whole DEI thing --- supposedly, the World Economic Forum and other woke agencies pressure businesses into entering the "DEI" arena, and pretty much threaten to destroy them if they don't get "woke".
From what I can tell, Chick-Fil-A is capitulating, while trying to maintain the "we're still conservative" reputation.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I'm kinda hesitant to say this, but I am seeing Charlie Kirk's name referenced in some of the articles I've looked at.
It just so happens that In-N-Out Burger owners (Lynsi Snyder and husband) are MEGA supporters of Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA....

As I mentioned in the thread about this, the person they put in charge of DEI has been on the job since 2021 and hasn't done anything like what we've seen done at Budweiser or Target.

I'm always still in trouble again

It further increases the polarization and division we are seeing. It's the equivalent of pouring gasoline on a fire.

DEI is about more than race.

              Source: University of Iowa

Diversity refers to all aspects of human difference, social identities, and social group differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, creed, color, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual identity, socio-economic status, language, culture, national origin, religion/spirituality, age, (dis)ability, and military/veteran status, political perspective, and associational preferences.

Equity refers to fair and just practices and policies that ensure all campus community members can thrive. Equity is different than equality in that equality implies treating everyone as if their experiences are exactly the same. Being equitable means acknowledging and addressing structural inequalities — historic and current — that advantage some and disadvantage others. Equal treatment results in equity only if everyone starts with equal access to opportunities.

Inclusion refers to a campus community where all members are and feel respected, have a sense of belonging, and are able to participate and achieve to their potential. While diversity is essential, it is not sufficient. An institution can be both diverse and non-inclusive at the same time, thus a sustained practice of creating inclusive environments is necessary for success.

That might sound good at a surface-level reading but it's really more of the argument that you must use racism discrimination to fight racismdiscrimination. Those who are against DEI are against that and other facets of it but are being portrayed as being against equal treatment of minorities. It is a disgusting and deceptive practice.

And along those lines, even if the more muted actions here are sparking a boycott, companies like Target have no real reason not to push the line even further if the end result is the same anyway.
