That brings up the claim it was "obvious." How so? Are these liberal writers saying that you can tell if someone is lesbian just by looking at them? Or what in her behavior has ever indicated she was "obviously" a lesbian?

According to someone I know they died their hair blue to make themselves "look gay". I wanted to say "wait, now there is a gay "look"", but I know that wouldn't have gone well. Despite this person railing against "gender roles" and such she says and does a lot to reinforce those and other stereotypes.

It's like stereotypes that gays say they reject but then turn right around and fully embrace and celebrate them at Gay Pride events.

I'm not inherently against stereotypes as long as 1. They are not malicious, and 2. They are not treated as absolutes and/or prescriptive, but as generalizations and descriptive of a trend.

That could be said about the majority of sitcom dads. Amiable dunces at best for the most part.
