World History 201 Guidelines
Welcome to World History 201.
Find out if Caesar crossed the Rubicon or threw a dollar across it.
This is the forum where world history, in general, can be discussed. Since the WH201, like the other fora in the World History department, is not limited to participation along lines of theology, all may post here.
Please keep the Campus Decorum in mind when posting here--while 'belief' restrictions are not in place, common decency is.
The Tweb rules are in force . . . we're watching you.

My ancestry includes Ireland, England, France, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. I suspect many of my ancestors probably slaughtered Christians and took the spoils back home in the hopes of one day entering the great halls of Valhalla with Thor and Odin. Before them some of my ancestors probably fought on both sides of wars between pagan barbarians from the north or Romans from the south, or perhaps some mixing of people from the Holy Roman Empire. Before that I might trace my roots farther back to ancient Caucasian migration throughout Europe, probably due to dispersion from the decline of the Hittite empire. My best guess would be that I am ultimately descended from Japheth. (Though after 200 generations, I might have some other peoples mixed in there)

Straight paternal my cousins twice-removed claimed we're descended from John (even "Quincy", most totally outrageous) Adams, but hey, they were Texans! My middle name and my father's is "Clyde" to show you how Scottish we are. Even some Scottish on my mother's side, Houston (including Sam as my relative), but way back.
Oh, by "Dutch" I'm fudging that "Woodward" wasn't just cover for "German". Strange how many Germans come World War I (and II) suddenly became "Dutch" and not "Deutsch"! My mother's maiden name was "Woodward", supposedly Dutch, but one generation back was a Reiter, surely German. But what was the "Christofferson" one generation farther back? Maybe I have some Scandinavian after all? But overall, mostly English, like "Williamson", "Westfall", and "Walker".
