  • Stretch Marks

My skin is starting to hang and show stretch marks from my weight loss. I'm not really trying to lose quickly, precisely to avoid flab and so on. The biggest issue is the HUGE scar from my hysterectomy. I had the traditional surgery due to the size of my tumor(s). From the belly button down.

Anyone have success with creams or other solutions?

My husband has been using Bio-oil on his surgery scar. It was suggested to us by the home care nurse who had a burn that she was using it on.

We don't know if it works yet, because a surgical scar is different tissue from a burn or stretch marks. But I think anything you use will take a long time to work. It's worth the purchase of a bottle or tub of other stuff to try it out.

My husband uses far too much. He went through a bottle that should have lasted him for 6 months in about 2 months. He doesn't get the concept of "a little goes a long way".

          Congrats!

Skin only does so much. Absent surgery or lasers I doubt much will work.

Yeah especially when one is older...but if I can minimize that big red zipper down the middle that would be nice.

Saw a friend at the store and told her about the Bio-oil...I had found it but was shocked by the price for a small bottle! She has a half a bottle she'll let me try.

Yes, it's costly, but even the small bottle should last for at least 6 months.....unless you are Mr. mossy........

When I lost a ton of weight after my first pregnancy I could squeeze into a size three, but there was NOTHING I could do about my skin pouches. My stretch marks lightened a lot. I would still need plastic surgery to tighten my skin, waiting to figure out if we're done with biological children to decide if this is something I want to start putting away for though. As for stretch marks, pure cocoa butter and vitamin e oil are as good as anything
