  • Messed Up - Again

Yeah, I caught it early (Praise God!) and can take care of it (one serving of crow, please!) but I messed up my bank account royally when I thought everything was fine.

I think I have it fixed now - everything (I can control) pays on one date instead of two or three.

I'm just tired of being a moron, ya know?

Just one thing after another with you isn't it?

Crow eaten - really not bad at all. At the moment, it's just messy, not doomed.

I'm so thinking of switching banks now...

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)

Laura, I don't know the circumstances of how this is happening, but are you keeping good records of stuff coming out of your account?

              Thanks, LS, Mossy.

Yes, the problem has been the 'when' more than the 'what' - this didn't make much difference when I was making more money. Now, an unexpected expense (really, who 'expects' to have a kitten's leg amputated?) coupled with the account looking like it has more than it does (wait, that pays on the 16th, doesn't it?!?! ) messed me up (yes, I'm stupid.)

I got it fixed - everything now drafts on the same two days and the only exceptions are things I can't control but do know when to expect. I will make one and only one more withdrawal this month and it'll be fine next month. Plus I should be able to start selling scarves again (summer isn't scarf season) and my travel is at least existent next month. It'll be okay and it WON'T happen again...

I have always tried to keep very good records of our accounts. I use a cheque register to record every debit transaction as if I were writing a cheque, and so I always know how much money is in that chequing account. Don't write many cheques anymore, but pretend I do.

They always ask me at the bank when I pay bills or whatever if I want a balance. I always say no, because what they have will be different than my records, because I record things that may not have come out yet.

For example, at the beginning of the month, I record all automatic withdrawals, such as RRSP (retirement savings), car insurance and health insurance, even though some of them may not be deducted until mid-month. Then I know for sure how much is left in the account and can act accordingly as the month progresses. Also keep track of any deposits made into the same account.

This method has served me well for, well, decades now. I have never been overdrawn.

                    Thanks.

                    I got it straightened out.

God is awesome - in case you were wondering!
