A trash bag or milk jug that can hold 1 gallon of water. Put the water in your freezer or your friendly neighbor's. When frozen, put on a deep pan and run your fan to blow over it. Not much help and it doesn't last, but . . . Of course it doesn't really work in humid places, sorry.

A couple decades ago a company tried to sell "swamp coolers" here in Georgia. They didn't stay around very long. Such cooling systems work well in dry, arid regions bit not in areas with high humidity.

ahem... yeah. Swamp do well here in the desert except for the stormy season...usually July thru September, if that. Hang in there Teal.

I grew up outside of D.C. (lived in Bowie, MD for 7½ years in the 60s and 70s) and realize that the area can definitely get hot and humid, but the deep south can stay that way for months at a time.

It was overcast until about 1:00 today - I managed to get a good bit done.

I'm at church right now working on straightening up after the clean up from VBS - yep, I'm cleaning up the clean up!

Tomorrow I have a speaking engagement - the sermon topic is going to be on praising God when things are rough.

Yeah, ANYBODY can praise God when things are good!

Sorry Teal. I at times get overwhelmed by anxiety. Not sure what triggers it. Money does, but not always. Sometimes it's hard for me to not over-analyze things.

Very well. The Lay Speaking Director came - she had left a VM for me that I didn't get and wasn't sure I'd be there (no idea why she didn't email like she usually does. ). I thought the sermon came off better than it was written (praise be to God for that one - I just deliver His message so if it's good, it's definitely His!) and several people mentioned that they really liked it.

I need to rewrite it for my sermon book. I'll be using it again.
