As some of you know, I began last year soliciting people to run for school board to replace some of the liberal "woke folk".
We selected good candidates, supported them, and in May, 3 of the 4 we backed won their seats. We were hoping for all 4, but the "loser" - an unknown - only lost by 36 votes to a very well known beloved police officer.
Long story short, our newly elected candidates have been doing a SUPER job of "slowing the roll" of the Superintendent and his liberal policies - asking questions, demanding evidence, refusing to go along with "here, vote on this 540 page legislative update without reading it - I have prepared a 3 page summary to tell you all you need to know". Our candidates, "yeah, No!"
Things were looking really good, the rest of the board was sitting up and taking notice and things were moving in the right direction.
I fell like my mission had been accomplished, so this morning in my 10 AM church leadership meeting, I advised them I am "retiring" from the school board fight and leaving it to others.
At our 2 PM PAC meeting, I shared the same message -- we need to find somebody else to run point, because I am "retiring" from the school board fight.
One hour later, the news broke that the Superintendent of Schools has RESIGNED!!!!!! He has announced he is "retiring" effective in December.
While I don't rejoice in his losing his job -- he simply was NOT the right man, and really needed to go.
