  • Father in hospital

My father had a bike accept on Monday. He has a concussion and several broken bones. The concussion is the main concern--he's confused and incoherent. Please pray.

Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

                Mercy to him...
"What I pray of you is, to keep your eye upon Him, for that is everything. Do you say, 'How am I to keep my eye on Him?' I reply, keep your eye off everything else, and you will soon see Him. All depends on the eye of faith being kept on Him. How simple it is!" (J.B. Stoney)

                            Long overdue update:

My father has (mostly) recovered from the brain injury. He's clear-headed and coherent but still has lapses in his short-term memory.

Right now, he's bedridden. He has heterotopic ossification (i.e., bone overgrowth) in his hips that is impeding his recovery. He has surgery scheduled for March 31 to remove the excess bone. Hopefully, he'll be able to resume his physical therapy following the surgery and be on the road to walking again! Please pray that the surgery goes well.
Heterotopic ossification (HO) is when bone tissue develops in your soft tissues. HO may occur after an injury or operation. Rarely, you may have genetic HO.
