  • Loretta Lynn

The "Kentucky coal miner’s daughter whose frank songs about life and love as a woman in Appalachia pulled her out of poverty and made her a pillar of country music" has passed away at the age of 90. Her health had been declining in recent years, suffering a stroke in 2017 and a broken hip in 2018. She was never one to shy away from mentioning her Christian faith and all that it meant to her.

Survivors include younger sister (and fellow country star) Crystal Gayle.

I'm always still in trouble again

"You're by far the worst poster on TWeb" and "TWeb's biggest liar" --starlight (the guy who says Stalin was a right-winger)
"Overall I would rate the withdrawal from Afghanistan as by far the best thing Biden's done" --Starlight
"Of course, human life begins at fertilization that’s not the argument." --Tassman

I heard Loretta Lynn sing about 20 years ago at the NC state fair. I loved her voice and she was amazing to watch.
She will be missed in our house.
A happy family is but an earlier heaven.

I've heard Crystal too but not her latest.

RIP Loretta. She was a very big pioneer.
